- Behavioral Associates will supply patients with both knowledge and tools that will enable them to be successful in achieving their weight loss goals. We design individualized treatment programs to maximize success in achieving lasting weight loss.
- In addition to proven weight loss strategies, behavioral interventions will be used to effect lasting lifestyle changes.
- The food plan is based on elimination of the group of high glycemic carbohydrates that metabolize into fat easily and a prescribed limitation of other Glycemic Index carbohydrate consumption, on a daily basis. Restricting carbohydrate intake will naturally diminish one’s appetite by inducing ketosis and lowering insulin levels.
- Limiting the number of grams of carbohydrates consumed in a day will lead to a safe lasting weight loss without use of any appetite suppressant medications. By restricting the number of grams of carbohydrate, stored fat is burned as a source of energy.
- An important part of this weight loss program is its emphasis on the quantity and quality of sleep. Recent research has shown that if one does not sleep deeply seven to eight hours a night, there is a disturbance in appetite regulation that will cause them to overeat.
- When indicated, we refer patients to targeted professionals who can support them in their journey to permanently overcome or remove the behavioral or physical obstacles preventing weight loss. Outside resources such as psychotherapy specializing in eating disorders, exercise training, hypnotherapy or other medical specialists, as well as fellowships like Overeaters’ Anonymous, are part of our virtual dream team of experts.

Close monitoring, especially during the first phase of the program will insure that weight loss is being achieved in a medically safe manner.
- If indicated, anti-depressant medications may also be utilized. These medications are non-narcotic and non-habit forming medications.
